Got an email this week from Bowen about a project that requires re-boring of an existing barrel. He indicated that Jim at Delta Gunshop was WAAAAY backed up and didn't sound enthusiastic about the prospects for change in the future. Huntington "gently" discouraged me from the re-bore option recently, also for the same reason.
Are there any other reputable operations out there to do the re-boring at the same level of quality? Al Siegrist?

Alan Harton recently encouraged me to rebore a DW barrel. We didn't talk a time issue. He did want to get the barrel out and to his barrel man ASAP so he may be backed way up too..

Al Siegrist has one of my barrels now via Harton and I have a Harton 38 WCF flattop conversion that has one of his rebores. It is a great shooter. Dave Clements recommended Al to me many years ago.

I'm not sure who Mr. Clements is using for my rebore, but he told me the time frame on my GP100 in 44 special conversion was time dependent primarily on the barrel work.
He assured me the work is very nice. He also said they tool up for one bore size and do them all of that size. I got in close to the start of the 44 caliber rebore shift, which shortens my expected project length. It may be luck of the draw on who is doing the size you're looking for at any given time.
