I recut the forcing cone to 11 degrees on my max . This is my hunting load not a target load . Normally I shoot more rds on a test fire , but I started filching , which you can see .

That group would've been very respectable off the bench. Nice work. Ever try AA1680 in it? All of my Maxs love that powder. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Didn't that gun have a Bisley Grip frame the last time you showed it off?

Yes I know that's a better maxie powder and it will add a little HP to it too . I have 12lbs of 4227 and no AA1680 . I buy all my powders in 8lbs caddy Unique , IMR 4227 and IMR3031 that's only powders I stock, except my bench rest rifle [ TN 222 ] there is 3 lbs of H322 for it . I have been shooting those 3 only since around 1970 . I had 15 different powder at one time and it seem every time I when to reload I was out of that powder . It's hell to be a old fart and set in his ways . I only bench rest my bench rest guns , all my guns are shot , tested and load development the way I plan on shooting them 99% of the time . My hunting rifle I use cross sticks or a tree . I know what you are thinking and your right . I don't like the luck 5 shot groups , 10 shot are min for me and all pistol to be shot at min 25 yds not this 7 yds BS . Sorry about getting on the bandstand .

Didn't that gun have a Bisley Grip frame the last time you showed it off? I have small hands and I can't shoot the bisley grip and the SBH stock square trigger guard is the worse of any gun I ever held . I like the Vaquero or the birdshead grip which I can put my little finger under the bottom of grip to control the gun roll . This should be the pic I posted
