The Kuhnhausen book is a must have in your library if you going to tinker.

I can't speak for the AGI products, but I own the entire Kuhnhausen librrary and agree that they are indispensible for understanding and working on your tools. They pack a TON of information into each section/chapter.

The Kuhnhausen books are great. It is nice to be able to see someone actually do what you are reading about, though. I've watched some clips of the AGI series and they look pretty good, but I've never bought a complete video. There used to be a website that allowed you to rent them, in digital format I believe (download), along with other good instructional videos in other hobby/sport areas. Can't for the life of me remember the website. Anyway, I personally wouldn't go lighter than a 19 lb. mainspring, unless you've got a slicked up gun you are going to be using for cowboy action shooting. Light hammer springs do not help your accuracy, as they greatly increase "lock time", or the time it takes the hammer to fall. Going to the 30 oz. trigger spring will greatly reduce trigger pull, although you will probably feel more creep, as the heavier pull masks the creep. To get an idea what that will feel like, lift one of the legs of the stock spring off the posts that they hook over in the grip frame. That will drop your trigger pull substantially. If going to a lighter hammer spring, I'd probably look at polishing up the action components so the cocking action is smoother. Light mainspring plus rough action equals bad. [edit] Ah HA! Found the rental website. It's "Smarflix". They have a bunch of good gun related DVDs for rent. I've been meaning to rent the Jerry Miculek trigger job video. smartflix.com/store/video/799/Ruger-Single-Action-Revolvers-Armorers-Course
