Any of you fellows use the Barrel Set Back tool that Brownell's sells? I do not have a lath but I do have one of these tools in unused condition that I want to use.

Yes I have the set to cut the shoulder and then reface the rear of the barrel.I did both operations by trial fit until I got it right.Just cut a bit off the shoulder until the sight lines up and then adjust the barrel-cylinder gap.Worked fine on several old Colts SAAs.You might also want the 11* forcing cone cutter.

A friend of mine has one. He says it's great for single actions, but really won't work for DA revolvers with a shrouded ejector unless you're good with a file too.

Thanks for the help guys! I did not think about the problem with shrouded ejector rod housing,thanks for the tip! The gun I am going to work on is a Smith 625 that someone else "worked" on!!

I don't 8understand about not using it on Double Action revolvers. I've used it on dozens of DA revolvers with zero issues. Are we talking about the same device? Here is mine:
