Was reading Ken Howell's book on wildcats and was reminded of the 416 Winchester Express. It was designed by Ken for Winchester and used the same dimensions as his 416 Howell. Sounds like Winchester was serious about offering it in their Model 70 around 1979. Then Olin sold to U.S. Repeating Arms and the project was shelved.

Just thought I'd share this. I'm fascinated with cartridge history.
