Has anyone tried the new I think Marlin levergun chambered for .410 shotgun? Seems like an interesting pairing and I didn't know if anyone has tried one yet and what they thought of it.

Seem like I remember hearing the locals talking about it not working well...

if you want a 410 lever gun get the one marlin made back in the 192s/1930s ....very slick and smooth,; lightweight [ has a true shot gun barrel, not a bored out rifle barrel ] and handles great. my favorite gun for grouse here in the fall [ yep, they are dumb and let you get close enough for a 410 ].

Thanks for the replies. I guess I will just save my money for another single action.

You might need a Single Action 410! I think you'll see decent deals on these from time to time.. Haven't a clue how well they shoot..

I think I will stick with My Encore and 10" barrel .45/.410....but thanks for the idea I think I am leaning toward a blued bearcat to fit the kids hands a little better than my Single Six

Rob i admit to only hearing from other people but I did pick one up and handle it at the shop when they came out. The main thing I noticed was, as mentioned earlier, they have a bored out rifle barrel, felt very cumbersom, awkward and just plain wierd. Not sure about actual weight but it sure seemed a lot heavier than a Mossberg pump .410.

I need to take a pic of my Baikal .410 SxS and post it. For a long gun it is pretty darned handy. Nice finish and surprisingly nice wood for an affordable shotgun.

That old Marlin .410 lever gun is sweet! Cable brought that by my place once. I tried to distract& hide it in my shop, him but he's too sharp. I have a good old Save24 in 410 ./22lr that will do what I need done of rabbits and quail.

[ i have another one of them, looks nearly new, too nice to use very much, sigh ] i really like the little savage 24s myself, and keep one handy too. sometimes i think the small game guns are more fun than all the rest combined!
