Okay guys, I talked to David Clements and asked if he had any more of his superb bisley hammers for old model Ruger blackhawks. He said he is out of stock and does not have plans for another run right now but he would do one in late spring if he got at least 20 orders. He said it does not matter if they are bisley humped or contoured for the regular grip frame but they would have the bisley spur. I do not one a single old model Ruger that does not wear one of Davids bisley spurred hammers. Here are a couple of pictures of old model Ruger with these hammers, both bisley framed and regular framed. I told David I would see if there was any interest by you guys and the guys on the Ruger Forum site in getting a order together. David gets $150 per hammer plus $5 for shipping. He also makes an old model hammer to work with the bisley grip frame as well if a guy wanted to bisleyize an old model gun. This is the hammer I show on the bisleys and the #5 guns shown above. Please PM me if you have any interest in these parts and an approximate number of hammers you would be interested in. If it looks like we have enough interest I will tallk to David and see how he would want to proceed. Robb

What a fine looking set of single actions! What is the cal of the one on the right in the second picture? With the stag grips and silver grip frame.

That little guy is a 41 Special with a Smith & Wesson model 57 barrel. It was done by Andy Horvath. Thank you for the nice works.

I agree with the Bisley spur being a must. Unfortunately some of mine don't. I'll contact David unless we need to do it as a group.

He wants us to wait a few days while he sees how many hammer plungers he has since Ruger won't sell them to him anymore. As soon as I hear back I'll let everyone know whether to email David with their order or not if the plungers are an issue.

I'll let you guys know what David says once he looks at the plunger situation. I amnot sure if he does the old model bisley hammers in stainless since there were no stainless old model blackhawks made. If he says he has the plungers, then I'll let you guys know and we can go from there. It looks like we won't have too much trouble getting the required number but the plungers are the question right now.

I pulled the plungers out of an OM hammer and a NM hammer. The OM is a bit under .125" in diameter while the NM is smaller at about .095". The OM does not appear to be too difficult a profile to duplicate, but I have zero machine shop experience. The retaining pin is a simple piece of rod so that wouldn't be an issue and I don't know if finding a spring would be difficult. I'll ask around this week and see if I can find someone who could duplicate the plunger and see what 20 of them would cost.
Maybe we could bribe Lee to churn them out.... ;D Everyone pitch in a take-off piece from a gun, assemble a whole revolver and donate it to his favorite charitable organization.

Guys, David found some plunger parts, not a lot of them, but enough to make up a small order. He prefers that you each email him directly and he will put you on the list in the order received and you won't be billed until the parts are ready later this spring/early summer.
I would not wait too long on these since there is a limited number of components available.

Guys, I received an email form David this morning and he has 14 on order. Four more an the thing is a go for later this spring. If you want one of either style and have not ordered yours yet just email David at his website and place your order directly. IN case anyone is wondering, I ordered two hammers at the same price as everyone else, I simply had to get some more guys on board before David would make the ones I wanted.

Guys I just talked to David and he said he has more than enough orders for this run so this one is closed.
Thanks for making this happen,
Robb
