Any other fans of the Winchester 71 and the .348WCF? Lets see them! Here is my 1957 And my Browning Model 71 The groups were shot at 50 yds. As you can see the Browning shoots a hair better than the Winchester with these loads any way.

Leverguns in general are getting pretty tough to come by out hee unless you buy brand spanking new, seems the ranchers gave up on them for bolt guns about 20 years ago and a lot of them left the area, they used to be the go to saddle gun

The 71 is my favorite levergun too. I have a Browning from the late 1980s and my dad has 4 or 5 original 71s in his Winchester collection. He bought most of them back in the 1970s we even Deluxes could be had for $300 - $400. I like the round so much I converted a Siamese Mauser to 348 a few years back. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Thanks Lee & Gary, sure would have been nice to buy a safe full of them back then!
nobearsyet, you just need to widen your search, I did not find these local either. The Winchester was worked into a trade of an old Bussy Badger Attack knife that I had and the Browning was a straight across trade of a Bushmaster DCM rifle that I was trying to sell at the time.
