Good Start... Three recommendations:
1) Ask about some express sights here on the forum. I think you'll find forum members ready to trade their express sights for yours.
2)PM Ken O'Neill about some of his undercut patridge front sight blades!
3)Check out Gary Reeder's grips!

You'll love it. I just got my model 97 in .22lr a few months ago and I've been shooting the heck out of it. Now I want a center fire.

Finally picked it up friday on my lunch break. Probably send it out monday to Reeder for some green/black laminate wood grips. Rubber grips on an FA are like putting mud tires on a 57 Caddy. Just so wrong.

Interested in selling the grips? I would like to try a set on my FA's.

It took me many years to buy a FAs...my first one was a 6" .454/.45 Colt in about 2000. Extremely accurate but just too rough on the joints. It was sold and an identical one in .41 Magnum was purchased.... Then two years ago there was a 97 with 4.25" barrel and round butt for sale on GunBroker...was just too nice to pass up.... If you have never had one before you will be impressed...SwissTank apply describes it.... Bob

id really like a 97 in 45colt, but i saw this 83 in 44, at a decent price, and had to have it.
thunderjet, i'd like to hang onto the original rubber grips.
