Kraig, buying a bisley gripframe is like buying just a saddle. Sooner or later, the big expense will come around! Get thee behind me!

Take note that Ruger no longer even sells the Stainless Bisley grip frame. Those of us who have cultivated a kinship with the bisley grip frame and have an unquenchable desire for custom Bisleys need to be stockpiling these jewels every time an opportunity appears. For those stainless beasts don't forget that a little hard chrome can go a long way toward blending in those steel parts... Yo Robb.. Buy a few.. Get hammers and triggers too. I'll snag them from you at the next big sale event!

Nope, not biting on that one Stan. I was going through the project file folder and decided that the 414 I just mailed to Jim Stroh for finishing will be the last one for awhile. With any luck several quest guns will come home in the next few weeks from getting make overs and I'm going to concentrate on finishing that journey before starting anything else. Shoot, I don't have but one spare grip frame and one Clements bisley spurred hammer left. The rest have all found new homes, many of them in AL! ;D

Man if you have the brass or ammo, shoot the heck out of it! Aggie01 did the hard part in finding the Max, converting it to a bisley and getting Alan to rechamber the cylinder and install the OM 41 barrel. I am just having the finishing touches done on it before it finds a new home. I am afraid it would be fighting with the other 414 if I stuck them in the same safe.

I don't see why someone like Power Custom doesn't start making Bisley frames. It's ridiculous trying to find one, and now Ruger's clamping down on the ones they sell, and when there ARE some available, hoarders like Stan scarf them all up!

In reality the wife has recently been making snide "hoarding" remarks about all my stuff~ If I were not so well schooled in this area I would make some snide remark about her shoes.. We may not learn fast but we do learn

Dang you guys, now there is one less bisley kit at Brownells! No gun for it or plans but I'll see how long I can hang on to this one. I just sent one to John Gallagher and one to Stan not long ago so I better hide this one in hopes that I forget it is here.
