Heavy 5 Shot Ruger 45 Colt Data

Anyone have load data, references and/or experience with 325+ gr loads in five shot Ruger's I can play with in my new toy? I am thinking 45 kpsi level pressures.

Check wit hCast Performance bullets, I've been told (never shot any of there bullets that I can think of right now) that they include heavy load data in eac hbox

What I have seen from them is "heavy" load data for the standard 6 shot Ruger Blackhawk 45 Colt but I'll take a look.

I know Bowen tests all of his heavy 5 shot 45 colts with 27.0gr H110 and a 350gr bullet. Runs 1450fps in my uncles Nimrod and is very accurate. That same load with 325 or 335gr FNGC should be all you could want in that gun....

Very interesting velocities with those big slugs, wow! Ross Seyfried had an article a few years back about turbo charging the 45. I'll have to see if I can find it, its probably the best article I've ever read on heavy handgun loads. The article was in Handloader Magazine.

I have notes from an old article listing John L's pressure tests in a 5.5" bbl.
315 NEI / 25.2 H110 for 1357 f/s and 40,000 psi.

John's PROOF load for 5 shot cylinders: 315 NEI/29.0 H110 for 1617 and 59,000 psi!!!!!!!!

my preferred 5shot load that goes through my FreedomArms M83 .45Colt cylinders is Federal/starline case, WLP primers, 24g of W296 under the NEI #321 .454-345G pb. designed by RossSeyfried in the early Linebaugh/Seville/African cape buffalo hunt era. drops out of my mold @ 362g using w/w and runs 1400fps in my 4-3/4" and 1431fps from the 7-1/2 inch tube

Yikes! that load is an absolute monster, I'd have to put super glue in my hands to hang onto that thing ;D I'm glad its you shooting those little missles & not me, how do they group?

Yikes is right!
You guy’s absolutely amaze me with you’re ability to control the recoil of such a heavy kicking gun. I load 20.4 gr. of 296 with LBT’s 360 gr. WFNGC (355 gr. actual weight) for 1150 f.p.s. and it’s almost more than I can handle with my Accusport Bisley. However, when I do my part it will group 3 ½”-4” at 50 yards. ;D Which is about as good as I can shoot open sights.
