www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=271474683On that revolver, the extra screw for the bolt bearing block is an allen head. Is that an earlier version? All of the current ones look like a screw or pin head on his website. Will probably peruse my old Seyfried articles and look to see what I can see....

Ive seen a couple like that. i assume thats older, I thought he has been using the linebaugh caliber markings for years rather than just 475 or 500 magnum as is used in this case.

FWIW that gun was recently bid to 2750 and didn't sell! Used to list with a Buy Now of $3000. Would bet money reserve is within $100 of that. It isn't listed currently. Axe, what's a common sale price for sumpthin like that? I would think $3k is too rich.

It is all in what the seller wants and what the buyer is willing to pay... This last year we saw some nice Bowen 475/500 customs go for a good bit less than $3000. We've recently seen Linebaugh Customs go for a little more. Just watch what they are selling for and before you get carried away bidding dang sure know what having a new one built will cost you... At $3000 I'd be expecting extras like reloading dies, bullets, brass, etc.. Maybe some nice grips..

After a lot of patient looking for some time I bought my 500 L Nimrod a few years ago on a non-handgun forum (hint there as it has worked more than once). I gave $2100 for the gun with Von Ringler belt, holster and slide, Hornady dies, a box of BB ammo, 300 BTB 450 gr LFN's, 200 "Unknown" 460 gr "Keith" SWC's, 50 450 gr BM "experimental" Punch's and 50 Alaska Bullet Works 450 gr FNSP's. I would think, if the stars aligned, a nice one (Bowen, Harton, Clements, etc.) can be found for ~$2k or so. You just need to be patient and ready to pull the trigger (no pun intended) immediately. Being in a time zone on the other side of the world helps too. The guy I bought from, an Alaskan, was unloading (darn puns ;D) it so he could go hunt elephant again.

He's gonna come out very well if he gets what he wants for it.

That's NICE, I'd a jumped on that too! I've been jonesin' for a Nimrod.
