Okay guys... Is it me? Am I just to fat? The concept of the IWB carry has never seemed work.. Give me a good pancake any day. Of course I'm constantly searching and plan to order the IWB straps for a Silver Dollar Pancake I'm about to order. Something about IWB for Church carry just sounds right!

I am not skinny and I like a WIDE holster to keep it from digging in. Having the straps further apart helps distribute the weight too. I carry a G20 in a Comp-Tac G-TAC (not a sixgun! :-O)
But have carried a 4" 629 in a Sourdough with IWB straps. Having the straps or clips fit the belt properly makes a big difference in shifting around, and is my only complaint with that rig. I wear a 1.5" wilderness instructor belt (also helps to have a very rigid belt) and the loops are 2", so they flop around and let the holster shift.

I suggest a Milt Sparks Versa Max if you want to go with nice leather.....

Carry a pancake holster inside the waist band. I have carried my N frames around on my fat body for years this way. [/img]

Sub, all you have to do is ask, I will send some skinny straps. I make them for 1.75" belts standard.

Ima askin then :-) Can you make them for a 1.5"? Love the holster and gun for ccw otherwise. And can switch OWB, which makes for a great combo when exploring or hunting, but need to go into "civilized" areas.
PM sent.

And another big "DUH" that I came to realize. Smaller guns can be harder to wear IWB than bigger ones. I think a 4" k-frame or Commander length 1911 are just about ideal. My G27 was horrible a well as the 2.5" 686 I had. The bigger guns take bigger holsters, which spread the pressure over a larger area and tend to stay put better.
Some barrel length levers the grip into you for better concealment. The dang grip is what always wants to print, never the barrel.
I generally carry with the trigger guard lined up with my jeans seam, so I guess that's 3 o'clock-ish.

DeSantis in-the-pants holster with a metal belt clip worn just to the right of my belt buckle works well for me. I'm 6'00" 215 lbs; no slim jim. On me, the gun is hidden much better on the belly than on the side, and it sinks into the belly whereas the hip bone makes it stick out on the side, and it's much more noticeable. G36 is my carry piece in-state (Department reg's.)

I like the simple hip grip carried just above my wallet. I tend to forget this little rag is there.

"Some barrel length levers the grip into you for better concealment. The dang grip is what always wants to print, never the barrel" YEP! I like a 4" barrel for exactly that reason. Yek; I see you replaced the steel grip screw with brass good idea, they always rust on me. When I was working retail, I often carried a J that way.

Iwb is my perfered method of carry for what ever handgun I carry. I use a milt sparks summer special ii or a home made holster with the pistol grip forward. That way when I bend over or sit down I don't have a plow handle sticking out. For me it's easier to draw the pistol while sitting when carried grip forward than with the grip to the rear.

Somebody needs to define "fat". I can carry a 5' 480 Raging Bull IWB. Just kinda gets moulded in I guess. ;D

Define Fat: If you can't see your belt buckle, except in the mirror...

Well lets see, Im just about 5'8" and better than 250 lbs. Think 5" section of a 2x4. I have carried a full sized pistol IWB for over 30 years. The secret is a proper holster AND a proper belt. Milt Sparks Summer Special II is what I use.
