I have a unconverted 41 mag 6 1/2" old model. Been in my safe for years and I have yet to shoot it. Now I'm thinking send it to Alan to have it cut down to 4 3/4" . What else would you have done to have a special shooter? Steel grip frame and ejrh, grips, sights.......?

If it were me I would pick one of two directions. If I went with the short barrel I would go for a light weight style and have the loading gate and recoil shield scalloped, stay with the AL parts, add a Bowen rear sight, have a Clements bisley hammer added and have Alan do nice walnut stocks. The other option would be a steel grip frame either in the Colt style or a #5 style with a bisley hammer, 5 1/2" barrel with Bowen sights, CCW the main frame, steel ERH and a long cylinder to fill the frame window. Have Alan do ivory grips on it as an upgrade. Maybe even fit a bisley gripframe to it if you like the bisley style. This is a 4 5/8" OM 41 I had Bowen do and then Robar did the Np3 coating and Fishpaw did the Dall sheep grips. I had the coating done because I had not bought a FA 41 yet and I wanted something more weather resistant.

How about a #5 grip, 5 1/2" barrel, bisley hammer, post front sight blade, and keep the same caliber?

Great ideas! That scalloped lightweight version sound just about right!
