A trio of websites are now showing .500JRH BFRs in stock. But the caliber is listed as .500S&W. Barrel length is listed as 5.5" MR can't verify what they are and the website idjits won't look (Bud's Gun Slop) And here I was warming up the credit card already.... No looky, no CC #.

Looking at those stag grips just reminded me to stock up on band-aids.

They are in fact production guns. I got mine in August. I got in touch with MR and got the number for their regional distributor for my area. Then I called him and he helped me find a local dealer that they worked with. Took a little bit, but I got it. The barrels are a little longer, I ended up spending $70 to lose 2". It now looks like the above stag handled one.

It's not uncommon for them to mis-advertise the BFR's for some reason. The 475's are cataloged as 480's and none of the salespeople have a clue what they are selling other than what the ad states. Can be quite frustrating, but none of the wholesalers salespeople have impressed me with knowledge about the products they sell.

Isn't it a 6.5" barrel? They cite 5.5" cause they measure from the front of the frame. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I think you are right, Lee.
I do know that the Precision Center guns are measured correctly while the regular production revolvers are measured from the frame -- by Magnum Research.

MR tells me they have shipped 3 non-.50AE conversion .500JRHs. 2 5.5" to gun writers and one 7.5" - I know who owns the 7.5" and I think I know who owns one of the "5.5" that's really 6.5"
