Showed up today! Snapped a couple of pictures, made some quick measurements and shoot 20 rounds of some 440GRHC under 39grs of H-110 at rocks. haven't shoot it at paper yet. The grips seem to be exactly like the Ruger hunters/BFR's with a slightly larger trigger-guard and a rounded grip frame. on my postal scale it came in at 52.4 OZs unloaded. the cylinder is about .150" longer than my 500Maximum and will take up to 2.248" long ammo. seems like there plenty of meat in the cylinder, at 1.8" wide. The chamber to outer cylinder wall thickness is the thinnest point and measures .090". The finish is pretty good but there are a couple of casting marks that didn't get polished out completely. Don't know if its the 5 ports in the barrel, the rounded grip-frame, the whole combo or just my excitement but it doesn't seem all that bad recoil wise... maybe like a really hot 475Linebaugh load. and it does seem to have more room for my middle finger as I haven't smacked it against the trigger guard (yet as its only seen 20 rounds). Here's some pictures next to my 500Maximum.

WOW! The T-Rex looks awesome! Reeder does some really nice work! I've got a 510 GNR of his with a 5 1/2" barrel with the same porting on your T-Rex... I just shot some 435g max loads for that gun last weekend and man they were a handful... I envy you! I LOVE my Reeders (about to take delivery of a 5 shot 45 colt conversion on a Ruger SBH next week for my old man) My next wallet drain will be a stretch frame like this... mayI ask if you plan on hunting with it? We've got some hogs down here in South TX that could really benefit from the muzzle end of the T-Rex!

Nice to have some good pictures that show the Ruger Maximum based gun with Reeder's long frame... I'm going to have to get one of my own..

Yes I will do some hunting with it but nothing really worthy, biggest thing I'm likely to shoot is an elk, unless I pay to do a stunt hunt on a bison ;D ;D ;D (told the wife they have lots of meat).
Almost forgot, the gun fills pretty good, balance wise, and not overly heavy should be a keeper. I kinda know how Axe fills, I just got this one back, should be getting my 2 50AEs back from Freedom arms with 500WE cylinders and Gary should be finishing a 455GNR on a pre JT BFR.
Looks like its time to start a new project! Maybe a 22LR this time.

Keep telling guys Reeder does put out some nice work. Put it on paper for us. Theres where the real proof is... Nice and in some cases like his bottle neck cartridges and his own frames, hes the only game in town. Just got my 50AEs back with the 500WE cylinders and thought a photo of 83s along with the Reeder was needed.

That is a very handsome looking gun. I have a gun that needs some Reeder attention soon. Gonna cnvert another 41 into something useful.

Congrats, bigbores! Have you tried any heavy loads yet? I am curious as to how it recoils when pushed!! Very cool!!

Congrats, bigbores! Have you tried any heavy loads yet? I am curious as to how it recoils when pushed!! Very cool!! Thanks whitworth! still excited just holding it! I don't plan on pushing it. The 440gr loads I shoot in it are pretty warm Ive gotten over 1600fps out of my 7 1/2" BFR with that load. My plan is to shoot loads lighter than that more around the top-end loads attainable with 500Linebaugh and keep the wear n tear from pressure down. Kinda nice to see loaded ammo on the shelf along with brass and bullets! added Man I hope I never have to decide only one!

Slick conversion. I imagine the redesigned trigger guard saves knuckle wear. Does it roll much in the hand? -Lee www.singleactions.com

Rolling up in my hand didn't seem to be a problem. I'm more concerned about the express sites, I will give them a little more time before I give them up.
