I'd been looking at the last two Gun Shows that I went to for John Taffin Books. At the shows I found only one of his books, I believe it was "Big Bore Sixguns". It was in pretty good condition but the vendor was stuck on $80 and That was just too high for me.
Now, I have been a Kindle user for a good while now, but I had not thought of it before and I decided to check if any of his books were out on Kindle. Okay then, there was one which had been released on Kindle last February, 2011. It is John's "Single Action Sixguns".
I normally don't load books with a lot of photos on Kindle or magazines because the Kindles were in Black & White - Gray Scale. Last years they came out with the Kindle Fire which is way advanced over the last model that was out and it is in Full Color Scale. Anyway, I ordered John's Kindle version of "Single Action Sixguns" for $8.98 online and it was loaded onto my Kindle within two minutes. That was three days ago!
The book is amazingly interesting and the photos are beautiful. I have been bouncing around, reading selected chapters, on and off for a few days now. I have read a few chapters at least 3 times so far.
I sure hope they transfer some of John's other books to Kindle!

I got my better half a "Kindle Fire" for Christmas...I've had absolutely no interest in it...until now. I'll check that out, it is the only JT book I am missing as a matter of fact. Thanks for the heads up.

That's cool that its out there as it would be great to travel with in busy airports and such without everyone staring at you but there is no substitution for having the actual book though, the photos alone are worth the price of admission. I think that is my favorite one from JT so far. So much information in one source!

I think that is my favorite one from JT so far. So much information in one source! Yes, there is no substitution for having the real thing, but the "Kindle Fire" is an amazing product. The pictures show up extremely well, so I'll be getting many more books, magazines and whatever, now that I see how well photos can be seen. I have read a lot on my previous Kindle, simply because it's so easy to carry around. They also hold a lot of material. You can store several thousand books, magazine and whatever before you ever have to start thinking of deleting anything. With the " Fire" you can download music and store it. You can download rental movies or even buy movies and store them. The possibilities are endless!

John has written many fantastic articles and books over the years. We are fortunate to live in his time.

Mr. Taffin's books are among the very best and I enjoy reading them over again and again.
My favorite is his Single Action Sixguns, but I've got the Book of the .44 on the night stand upstairs, and Big Bore Sixguns and Big Bore Hadguns in the downstairs library, right next to volumes by Col. Cooper and Elmer Keith.
