Apparently SR is not waiting two weeks until SHOT to debut the 2012 offerings! This new rifle is intriguing: .30-06, .308, .270 & .243. It has what appears to be a Savage-type trigger system... www.ruger.com/products/americanRifle/index.html

The bolts on the wrong side. A lot of that going on these days.

I like it and I bet it will sell...
I see these guns in the hands of everyday hunters. The price point is smart and it has a lot of features that new and old hunters like. Smart move by Ruger. I'm glad they got rid of their ring system too.
This will sell and it was a portion of the market that the Ruger 77 was not part of. The under $500 American hunters rifle, that's what sells to actual hunters, like it or not...not the 5 shot .475 revolvers we few wish for...unfortunately that's a niche market whether we like to admit it or not.

Not bad. Hopefully they do come in under 500.

I'd take a Wallworld M700 over that thing any day.

The being of the end for Ruger if they want to cater to the Walmart crowd. Not impressed.

I doubt it is the end. They are just getting warmed up. Many companies offer products at various levels of quality and price.

It appears to be an entry level rifle aimed at competing with Marlin's X7s. There is a market for them so I guess Ruger wants to cash in on it.
