What kind of field testing are you planing on to see how it holds up? The original question wasn't actually from me, it was relayed from Mr. Bowen. You might call and give him the contact info for your plater (or give it to all of us here) Thanks for posting. Maybe we can drive the price of all those MR3 DB's back down

For Field testing dont think I gonna do anything different then what I do with my other guns. Just shoot it and will be taking it hunting. I look at it this way I have brass plated door handles, which with three kids get a lot of use and abuse. And they have been holding up fine. Also with that last grip frame going for $275 even if I had to get this re-plated every 5 years thats good for 40 years ;D. If its OK with Lee I would gladly post the platers contact info here. I sent the plater a pic of the gun and hes going to post it on his web site.

Looks good to me, I'd like some contact info for him as well, I have a Vaquero gripframe on a 45 Colt blackhawk right now and would really like the brass and stainless instead of the blued and stainless

OK heres the web address, If Lee wants I will tak it down. www.metalmastersrestoration.com/Two things I would ask James about. First metal prep, I didnt discuss this with him before hand but I had mine polished ready for bluing. Second varnishing the grip frame, He didnt do mine and I have pretty acidic sweat. I left some nasty fingerprints on the grip that needed to be removed with lead away cloth and then polished and varnish. I had to do the same thing with the grip frame on my black powder sheriffs pistol. But might as well save yourself the trouble and ask James to do it.

THANKS RIGBY, I REALLY APPRECIATE THE INFORMATION. IN LOOKING AT THE PICS OF YOUR GRIP FRAME I JUST KNEW IT HAD TO BE DONE BY AN ARTIST. AFTER REVIEWING HIS WEBSITE I WOULD SAY HE IS ALSO A MASTER RESTORER TOO! BEAUTIFUL WORK! THANKS AGAIN. MB
