Air Arms TX 200 III Great shooter with a high quality workmanship and shoots to 3/8 inch at 25 yards all day.
Benjamin 1377 Pistol and for the price these little pumpers work very well. Custom 2400 from Crosman that is CO2 and it will shoot less than 1/2 inch at 25 yards as well. A Crosman 2289 that is a pumper ordered out of Canada and it has proven to be a nice little rifle.
A couple of Chinese spring guns that have been a challange however they are also shooters.
Pyramid air loves to see me anytime. I believe they have a direct withdrawl route to my bank. I have ordered and fired over 11,000 JSB pellets in .177 and .22 since June.
I had a problem with rabbits that would tear up my lawn and had to reduce the number. Since June that has amounted to 32 Bunnies that have turned into fox food.
I just happen to have a Discovery rifle and will say that they are the best for the price that I have seen.
1. Weighing in around 5 lbs nice and light.
2. Accurate with JSB 15.9 pellets less than 1/2 to 3/8 inch at 30 yards from my rifle.
3. The Discovery is easy to work with and there are a large number of after market parts for this rifle.
4. Very hard hitting in .22 out to 60 yards and will kill rabbits with head shots if you are up to it.
5. Operation pressure range is most accurate between 1800 psi and 1100 psi good for about 25 shots before recharging to 2200 psi.
6. Use a nice fixed power 4X or 6X power scope to keep the weight down. 4X is about the best for hunting and general target shooting.
7. Gives about 800 fps and that is sufficient for any small game.
I placed a TKO muzzle brake
www.tko22.com on the barrel and it is very quiet, The trigger was changed out to a brass one from this web site
www.bryanandac.com .
I have been down the road with a lot of different modifications and these are the only 2 modifications that I would do to a rifle.
The air pump is supposed to be questionable however the one that I have is working fine. You just have to take the grease off the outside of the cylinder and use a little 30 weight Shock Oil from a hobby shop that is used in Radio Controled cars.
Do not pump the pressure up fast. Push down on the handle and stop then draw the handle up and stop for a second. Pump about 50 strokes and let the pump cool down again. It takes about 130 strokes when new to fill the pressure tank to 2000 psi. After that it is about 35 pumps to go from 1100 psi to 2000 psi or about 2 pumps for every shot fired.
Always leave air pressure in the gun to keep the valves sealed.
Drawback on some of the rifles the bolt handle will raise when fired. The best cure for this is to check the bolt length to make sure the hammer cocking pin is not hitting the back of the bolt when the gun is fired. The cure is to shorten the bolt until the hammer cocking pin no longer hits the back of the bolt or put on a heavier bolt handle knob.
I have not been able to get the Discovery to shoot very well with a second barrel band that you read about only the original arrangement of a single band. The extended long bolts that seat the pellet deeper in the chamber have not been worth the purchase price in any Crosman gun for me.
Web sites to check out. If you have not been on these web sites and do not have the rifle at this time it would be in your best interest to look these over first and then decide on the rifle.
www.gatewaytoairguns.org go to the "forums" and check out the "PCP Darkside" gun section the rifle will be refered to as the Disco.
