Shot one yesterday. Sure wasn't impressed.
The internals appear to have been taken from a heavily used rifle, and the fit of the 3 major sections was poor (upper receiver, pistol grip/fire controls, and buttstock.
We got it to run several magazines without stopping after disassembling it and cleaning a wealth crud out of a new gun. But it was a PITA to get the pistol grip back in on the receiver, and putting the buttstock back on was a bigger pain yet.

Century's QC is not good. My CETME had to make a trip back to them due to extractor issues: Now it functions fine, groups well, but still has the rear sight canted at an odd angle that makes it impossible to adjust precisely. No one makes a good drop in adjustable rear sight and affixing an HK diopter is daunting. In addition the frame seems to be a little off kilter as well, and no scope mount will reliably mate to it. All that aside, it ain't a strativarius, but it'll play. A little grinding and tweaking and my $335 G3 wannabe does everything I ask of it, and its definitely different.

I bought one of Centuries Goloni's, it's a Galil clone, a year or two ago and got lucky with a great shooting rifle. Since I bought it I have read the nightmare stories of some of their rifles. If I new what I know now I probably would not have bought it, at least I lucked out this time.

AKChurch: I was shooting my CETME this weekend, one bad magazine but otherwise, a reliable fun, accurate, robust, easy to maintain box fed semi auto. On this particular G3 I installed a H/K folding stock. A friend found a CETME with an H/K drum rear sight it is also well put together and reliable. I've had 4 CETMEs and they are all reliable and accurate. This is my favorite truck gun w HK telescoping stock: this has a HK drum rear sight: The take down and re-assembly takes some getting used to but CETMEs for Dummies is a good online resource. The German that designed it knew what he was doing. Unfortunately, Century Arms has made a hash out of several of of these once excellent battle rifles. I picked up one for 175.00 2 years ago, because it had a broken .308 commercial case in the chamber. A 9.99 stuck case remover made it a reliable functional rifle. I even had the Springfield Armory Rep shooting it this weekend. It shot along as well as the far more expensive M1A and Scout he brought. I purchased some HK drum rear sights and need to have these mounted. I am thinking of mounting one of the drums to the upper receiver cover of an AK to extend the usable sight radius and improve the sight picture. All the Best, Rob

When they are good, there are no stopping them. I have a few friends that have them. I have an H&K 91 for many years, it's a great rifle. I always bought and shot milsurp for it, then the cost went through the roof! I just started loading for it about 6 months ago and wish I would have done that a long time ago, it has gone from a 2-3 MOA rifle to right at 1 MOA with it's favorite load, what an improvement.

I too have the G3 bug, but I just have a parts kit, can't seem to find a receiver (I got a good deal on a bunch of parts kits about 5 years ago, right before the kiddo was born) but as I find one (maybe a CETME receiver would work?) they'll be a G# in my gun closet

Just ordered one from them, now to find somebody that will slap it together (might do it myself, if I can learn to read German, and the armorers manual)
