I picked-up this Uberti Callahan last month and thought I'd post some pictures. It's been a long time since I've been this impressed with a new model.....the gun just fits me perfect and shoots like a dream. It is a full magnum, but based on the frame size I don't plan to push it hard (it's very close to an OM 357). Seems to love 7.0 of Green Dot with a 250 grain Keith so I'll probably stick with that. I haven't seen many of these advertised. If you get a chance to handle one though I think you'll be surprised at how well they point and feel. -Lee www.singleactions.com

What power level do you feel they will handle on a regular basis without shaking loose? Is it safe to assume that my top end 300gr cast loads will be a bit much?
And while I am bothering you, what is roughly the max OAL it will accept?

I literally shot nothing but 320 grain WFNs around 1,250 through it. Long term, I haven't got a clue how it will hold up.

Great looking sixgun with a "swissafe" ala Virginian Dragoon....hope to get to handle that grip design too. Thanks for Sharing that one Lee.

I figured this one would bring back memories Whit (if it weren't for him I, wouldn't have a Callahan yet. Very few have shown up for sale). As for loads, Whitworth and I did test it with 320s. The gun took that level with ease but I plan on staying on the lighter side. Most likely mid-to-upper 44 Special using magnum hulls. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Looks like the list for $599. Which means they should come in around five or just under. Now if they'd only show-up on the auction sites . I think my gun safe needs one.

I have looked that over the counter SA over for several days--there is NOTHING I don't like about it --looks like fine workmanship !!!!! Of coarse you could add your touch and make it different but not much to change on that SA in my opinion !!!!!!

I agree. I've yet to hold one but it looks just right in terms of size.

It's a great little revolver. I plan on getting another some time in the new year -- maybe two.......
They handle very nicely and even with stiff loads, they shoot really well. With the price being what it is, you simply can't go wrong.
