Needless to say, I think this Uberti is magnificent, judging from the photos. So, do you folks actually have dealers that stock this gun? I've looked around locally for many months, and the local stores don't have 'em. I only heard a few stories of the Uberti 44 mag., came from a working cowboy up in the Wyoming/Montana area. He said his pierced primers, and was not strong enough for his full power handloads. Also, just wonderin if this gun has that two stage base pin-the one that moves back into the hammer, and I guess is supposed to be a "safety"? Anyhow, it sure looks great, wish I could see one in the steel!

It does have the Swiss Safety and like you I haven't seen them in the open market. I got it from a friend that has a few connections in the gun industry. -Lee www.singleactions.com

What a straightforward, businesslike but refined design. Gonna have to look one of those up!

hey lee - it's been several years now - how is that Callahan holding up? Truth be told, I haven't fired it in 4 or 5 years. Great little gun, I've just be preoccupied with other projects. The last time I shot it was in a blizzard. Cold as hell, but I could really hit with it. All my loads have been light....as in 8.0 of Green Dot / 250 gr Keiths light. -Lee www.singleactions.com"Chasing perfection five shots at a time"

I picked up one a few years ago. Shot maybe a box of ammo through it. Now it sits in the safe. Tried selling it, but got no interest. Overall a nice firearm.

Now that there's a good-lookin' sixgun! Congrats on finding something one might not see every day.
Nice to hear folks using Green Dot. I read elsewhere that it's been a best-kept secret for mild magnum loads. I have 5 lbs of it ready to go...
I've been wondering about using Green Dot in my 4-5/8" OM Blackhawk to get a heavier-for-.41 Mag 240 grain Keith to 1000 fps. I don't know at which grains weight to start... there's not a lot of published data for this combination.
Thanks!
Edit: I'd toss out an offer on Magman's gun but I already own a 7-1/2" Old Model Super that fills that role...
