1961 Flat Top. It was bought new by Uncle who kept it near all his life. One of my treasured guns which brings good memories when I pick it up.

Thanks fellas.....the Case knife was his as well and may be from that same period. Too bad that these revolvers were so short lived. For anyone not shooting bear stomper loads, they seem to combine all the best elements of the SA's in one revolver. Yeah, not bad for 51 years for sure, and this gun was shot a good deal over the years. The rifling is still crip and other than the holster wear and dents and dings in the grips, it's not much the worse for wear. Alan Harton took care of the end shake and b/c gap here recently so maybe another 50 plus years in it's future with my boys.

Nice revolver. It's great when you can heft the gun and smile at the history. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys....I think I'm getting a little better at taking gun pictures. I never thought I would ever be lucky enough to have this pistol in my hand, it belonging one of my true cowboy heros: my Uncle John. It has lead a charmed life. Thieves broke into his house back in the 80's and took every gun he had, but they missed the Flat Top! We were so happy it was the one they missed. He got really sick in the last days. After he passed, thieves living near him who knew he was gone, broke into his house again. But relatives had come a day or so before and taken the guns. The Flat Top was no where to be seen so we assumed that he had tucked it into his recliner and the thieves had found it. About a week later the family called to tell me that they had found it, and I was able to buy it out of his estate.
