Montana Bullet Works has a very large variety of 500 Linebaugh bullets available. Quality stuff too. No doubt but I can get .501's from a local caster for a lot less than that. As with most things one does get what he pays for. For my big bores I'll take a spec'd hand cast bullet every time.

Lots of strong feelings about bullets too! I like those fine store bought GCs myself but find plain flat based home made 475/500/510 bore bullets a lot more in line with my budget. I'm more comfortable spending any extra money I might have to put in bullets on size dies for my Star. Here's a thought in line with the original thread. Sure we have 4, 4 5/8, 4.75, 5.25, 5.5, 6, and 7.5 inch 475/500s but... How many were just that way when we bought them? What length barrels have we actually paid to have put on our revolvers? Me? A 5.25 inch octagon 500L and a 7.5 inch octagon 475L. All the others were a product of convenience.

Me? 5.5 octagon, and 5.0 L frame pattern. Both 500 Linebaugh. LP
