Went to a local gun show today. One dealer had a Uberti 1875 Outlaw 357 Magnum 7 1/2" barrel 85 to 90% blue with most of the blue missing half way around the muzzle. . He wanted $362.00 out the door but I countered offered $300.00 then he got foul mouth I passed on it and walked away.
Seems to me he was asking too much for the condition of the gun.

I'd have passed too, his asking price does seem a bit high to me too. He should never have gotten mad about a counter offer.
I am seeing more & more that scalpers at the gun shows ask retail +10%. I have always thought it funny when a scalper gets mad at a counter offer when he is asking more than a local gun shop & I'm seeing it more & more here.
Once I asked one of them who had his guns priced higher than retail if I could ask a question? He said yes, I asked, "Tell me please what makes them so dadblamed much more valuable when they cross form this side of the table to that side of the table"? Wow he got kind of hot! ;D Frank

I've never found a deal on a gun at a gun show - have pretty much lost interest. Have bought some once fired brass, etc. but not really worth going just for stuff like that. Fun to look but have to pay even just to do that.

This was the first gun show I went to since September2010. I error with caution since the fellow was 20 years older and in a scooter. Other than that I would have come close to rocking his world.
I truly appreciate the feedback.

I paid $330.00 for my '75 Outlaw NIB. It's a .45LC 5.5" but, I'd say shop around, 'cause his price seems a little steep to me also.

Another reason I passed on it because I want it in 45 Colt. His price was too steep.

After today I feel like it isn't worth the hassle to even to to another gun show.

I have been to a couple of "shows" and found 1 "gunshow bargain" and that was a 1903 that may keep 5 shots in a washtub at 100 yards, and I bought it only to go with the Garand. Nowdays in Missouri at least, gunshows are a joke.

I love gun shows; specifically Tulsa. 4100 tables. Like any gun show, you have to sift through hundreds of guns to find a good deal, but they are to be found. A few that comes to mind that I have bought recently:
Freedom Arms Premier 454 with extra 45 Colt cylinder, FA tool kit, 5 extra sights, TSOB scope mount, FA action job, hard case, $1000 out the door
1895 vintage Model 1894 Winchester rifle, 30 WCF, perfect bore, half round/octagon barrel, $375 out the door.
Marlin Model 39, 60s vintage, excellent condition, $300 out the door.
Ruger 32 magnum Single Six, 9.5 inch barrel, mint condition, $250 out the door.
Shiloh Sharps, 45-70, carbine, perfect condition, $850 out the door.
S&W 1026 10mm, $450 out the door
Best of all, the fun part is looking. If you like guns and have never been to a Wannamacher show in Tulsa, why haven't you?

When I asked the man about that Winchester, I thought I heard him say the price was $1375, which I would have paid, but I figured to jew him down to 1200 bucks, so I asked for his bottom-dollar cash price. Then he firmly stated, "Three hundred and seventy-five is as low as I will go. " All day long I had folks trying to buy that rifle. I had to carry it around, as I rode out there on the Harley, and had no place to stash it. One dealer begged me to price to him. Then, when I told him what I had paid, he almost cried. I had fun telling dealers who asked about it, that I was just looking for a good see-thru scope mount so that I could mount a red dot on it.

I've had some great buys at Tulsa over the years as well. Broke my heart that I wasn't able to go this fall, I look forward to the Tulsa shows all year long. They are the only gun shows I care anything about attending any more. Not nearly as many A-Hole dealers as you find at local shows.
