I was in my local gunshop today and they had a nib Uberti 44 mag. It seems like a nice gun with adjustable sights and a decent trigger. Does anybody have any experiences with these? Is it worth the $550 price tag. Any input is appreciated.

If it has a brass grip frame, there's a thread on here about them. If not there are a BUNCH of people on here same as me that think Uberti's in general are just pretty darn good sixguns. Im just not sure about the adjustable sights from my personal experience, unless its a NEW FRONTIER copy...

Is it the Callahan model they've advertised? If so I'd buy it. That model looks pretty neat.

I've handled one and the Callahan is a fine lookin' sixgun! Very tempted to bring it home.

Those sights remind me of after-market micro sighted ruger early single sixes, that I collect

From my seat here, that front sight looks massive. And here I thought I was accustomed to some massive front sights with my early DW Model 12's...but the Uberti pictured above even eclipses this one. LOL! ;D Although, aside from the huge front sight, I'm sure that the gun is a pleasure to shoot & own.

If it is still at the shop when I go back out, it just might come home with me. But then they had a nice Colt Trooper there. Oh, I love making decisions.

It's the angle, the front sight is not overly large.

I've shot Whitworth's Callahan and it's quite a sixgun. Perfect size and the gripframe is one of the best I've held in a long time. -Lee www.singleactions.com
