Hello I'm a New Member and I Love Single Action Revolvers...never new this site existed until I started searching for info on a new revolver I bought today. I have a feeling I'll be spending quite a bit of time here. Maybe someone can help me out I just brought home a Mint Condition Virginian Dragoon 44 Mag. On the bottom of the grip it has "Yorktown 1781-1981. It is Beautiful and it appears to have never been fired. The Serial Number is 40XXX. Where can I get a copy of the Owners Manual? Thanks Rick

Hello, i too just got a nib virginian dragoon with all the paper work, my serial # is S24536, and it says "YORKTOWN 1781/1981" on the bottom of it, i wish i had the skills to copy and send it to you. If there is anything you want to know about it, let me know. Mine is built like a tank and the trigger is very nice, it shoots a little high at 25yards but is dead on at 50 yards, i just bury the sights at 25 and hit the bowling pin about everytime. pghrich

pghrich Thanks for the offer on helping me with any questions I might have about the Owners Manual. If you don't mind what load were you shooting ?? I loaded up some 240gr. Lead SWC over 7.2 grains of Trail Boss and I was not impressed with the accuracy. I could just have been my load.... the revolver locks up tight as a drum, with no fore or aft play. I'm going to try different powders and Jacketed Bullets. Thanks Rick

My load is 8.0grain unique over a 240grain swc, i have a 8 1/2 inch barrell on mine and this load cronies about 1,010fps. this load does not print one hole groups because i dont sand bag it .I just point and shoot standing freehand not leaning against anything and when i do my part and remember to bury the sights at 25 yards i hit the bowling pin. i have been thinking about trying trailboss in my 45/70 herd good thing about it pghrich

I just started using Trail Boss this past Month and really like it. It's Great for reduced Lead Loads. I use 7.3 Grains under DarDas Cast 44 Cal. 200gr. RNFP Bulllets (.432 dia.) in my Marlin Lever Action and 10.5 grains under a 150gr Bevel Base RNFP 30 Cal Cast Bullet in my Winchester 94 30-30 Lever Action. Both loads are very mild and quite accurate. ( And NO LEADING !! ) As far as the Dragoon goes, I'll just have to play around with it. I have a good selection of Cast and Jacketed Bullets plus at least half dozen types of Pistol Powder. I'm not looking for 1 Hole Groups at 25 Yards just something I can hit a Soda Can consistently with at that distance and mild recoil like a Stout 44 Special Load.
