Unrelated to guns but just as tempting. A friend offered me a 1969 Camaro converted to prostreet. No motor but everything else is there. Very clean and the asking price is ten. I don't have a digital camera but trust me this thing is clean. Please talk me out of this guys! My gun buying would abruptly halt if I buy it.

Sounds like a money pit for sure! FWIW I don't think that this is the place to come ask people to talk you out of it..

Was the back-half done right and is the metal all there and straight? If so, buy it, stuff a BBC between the front tires and do this: -Lee www.singleactions.com

That's what I was thinking. Big cube motor and street slicks. I'm going to look at it again tomorrow.
Wicked Nova you have there Lee.

Wicked Nova you have there Lee. Thanks. It's a money pit when you drag it every weekend....but it's worth it when there's over a foot of air under the front tires. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Looked at it again yesterday and it is easily worth 10. Passed though cause I realize what it will cost to finish with the powertrain I want. For now I'll stick with firearms.

I do believe the phrase is "Oh the PAIN! The PAIN!"
I totally sympathize. There was this extremely well done restored early model Ford Bronco half cab, sitting in a local parking lot. (sigh)
Blew nearly fifteen minutes just sitting there drooling over it.
But I was sitting there in my newly purchased F150 and just could not convince myself to take that plunge.

It's probably best that you passed. Hot rodded roller cars have long been an iffy thing. The real value totally depends on the quality of work (versus a possible hatchet-job) done to the car. Then you have to factor the added $8-10G you'll need to finish the drivetrain...provided you don't go with the cheaper inline 6 option previously mentioned. ;D hehe

Charger Fan, I sold my Barracuda recently as a roller and it would have cost at least four times what the buyer paid to duplicate it. There are great deals out there (particularly in this economy) if you look around!

Tons of cheap rollers out there right now. I had a chance at a tube chassis Vega drag car. Jigged and certified to 8.50, 9" rear with a Mark Williams 3rd member, straight metal, fresh black paint, all aluminum sheet-metal interior, etc, etc.......$5,000. -Lee www.singleactions.com
