I have been offered a pretty nice Uberti. It has a brass lower frame, case colored around the cylinder, blue 5.5" barrel, blue cylinder. It's a conservative 95% gun with the box.
It's label says "Cattleman" and on top of the barrel it has the word "Regulator" stamped.
It's chambered in .45 Colt
I have never owned a Uberti but it seems decent. The bore is perfect, the cylinder numbers to the gun and other than the turn line and a little muzzle and extractor shroud end wear...it's clean. Just a few nicks in the stocks.
It can be purchased from an individual for $200.00
Any thoughts on the gun's value?
Thanks.
Bob

I'd be all over it for $200. Ubertis are nice shooters. Check for the usual cylinder alignment, fit & finish, etc, etc. If it specs out that's quite a deal. In that condition they usually bring $300 - $350. -Lee www.singleactions.com

It does check out. The gun was carried a little but not shot too much. It has excellent timing. The fitting is good. It has a good finish. It's not a Hammerli or a USFA...but it's a nice SA and should be fun to shoot. I like the guns without transfer bars.
Thanks for the replies. It made the purchase decision easy. I have so little knowledge about Uberti revolvers, I needed your help to know if I was on the right track. I'll take a few pictures and post them later.

Congratulations Bob. Uberti makes pretty good guns. They make guns for several distributors Cimarron included. I think you got a pretty good deal. The .45 Colt is a great cartridge too. It's lots of fun, powerful, accurate, & just seems right. Let us know how it shoots. Frank

Vonfatman, heck yeah ! Get it while ya can. Those Uberti's are nice to pack.Pretty light. Still, those Magtech loads are still powerful.Sure don't need a stinkin magnum <G>
If it was made, within about 3-4 years,it still might have a safety in the hammer. You can check the back of the hammer,a long open oval shape or when cocked, from the side. You'll see a different color of metal. This is the "safety". If you pull back the hammer slightly, let it go/easy,if there's a space between the hammer and frame, that is it.The "safety". As with those, carry 5 rounds not 6.Hammer over an empty chamber.Best safety there is. Rugers are different....
Mine, was showing to my b-i-l yesterday, well the trigger/bolt spring finally went. Need to see what's going or, what went on... I'll need to order a couple music wire springs.
Boy,some of you guys comes up with terrific deals !!

Took some pictures. Here they are. Also, I shot the gun last night...about 40 rounds. It shot fine. Not as accurate as My USFA Rodeo....but on par with my father's 3rd Gen. Colt SAA. It was fun shooting the gun. It could use a bit of trigger work (so could my father's Colt). I took a close-up of the hammer. A safety in the hammer? I could not figure how it actually worked? Bob

Good looking gun, congrats. I'm no expert but, the marks on the cylinder might suggest a slight timing issue? I am a fan of the Uberti's as anything else is pretty much out of my budget.

Yep,got one with the hammer "safety". To put it on safe, pull the hammer back slightly. Then, ease the hammer to the frame. If the hammer stays back a little, from the frame, the "safety" is on.
Why are you making me drool ? (Because you can !) You enjoy that Italian.

Does that mean it can be carried with 6 in the cylinder?

Does that mean it can be carried with 6 in the cylinder? Only if you are goin to a gunfight. If you are not, 5 is correct for 99% of the situations.1% is for gunfights. How many are we goin to ? (gunfights) Probably NONE. So,can change this to 5 for 100% of the time. (Oh, and please "Colt ONLY loads" with these guns.It isn't necessarily with the frames, but with the cylinders, for these loads. Or,"Cowboy loads".Walls are thin.) If it was a Ruger, then 6. Any other make,Colt,USFA, and similar guns, carry 5,empty chamber under the hammer. You have a good week.
