...for a Wards Western Field Model 46 (22 magazine-fed bolt-action repeater) that belonged to his granddad and his dad. He checked with Numrich, and they told him the Wards Western Field Model 46 was the same as a Mossberg Model 42 - he ordered the part for the Mossberg, but they sent a part for a Model 42A, which is quite different, and they don't stock the part for the Model 42.
Anybody able to help?

Who doesn't love a Mossberg Bolt Action 22?
My 140K has been mine for 20 years since dad passed it down.
I have a Mossberg 42M (c) parts gun that has been following me around ever since i bought it just for the stock.
Bolt is interchangeable (IIRC) with my bro's B42C (which is the gun i bought to steal the stock for)
I might have painted the bolt black back before I could drive a car...
let me know if it has what he needs in it.
I'll sell the whole bolt - the bolts that held the cover plate on have been filed close to the bolt.

You may wish to give this guy a call he seems to have a lot of things you cannot find anywhere else his name is Bruce. He has been around since dirt and you know how that goes.

I just went down to see what model the Mossberg in my basement is… was going to send you the whole bolt, but the barrel markings are obliterated so I'm not sure what model it is/was. Has he tried www.havlinsales.com |

I know it's been a long time since your post, but is your buddy still looking for a firing pin for his Western Field 46? I have a Western Field 46 and have gone through a long process of having some firing pins made, and have some extras.
