We recently finished this 500 Linebaugh conversion so I thought I'd post some photos: It's basically the Nimrod configuration. Pac Nor barrel, knurled Belt Mountain pin, Bowen target rear sight, home-built aluminum front post, etc. The grips are Claro Walnut and were fit by Cary Chapman. I'm pretty pleased with how it shoots. Both groups were with 29.5 of H110 under a 435 gr WFN. 5 shots off the bench @ 25 yards: 10 shots off the bench @ 25 yards. The shot to the lower left is on me: I'm convinced the gun can shoot way better than I can hold. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Mercy, that is a fine looking revolver. And good shooting, I might add.

The front sight on my gun? We milled it out of a block of aluminum. It screws into the barrel band. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee that is beautiful!! I think you said you build them for personel use, not offering for sale. Do you need some special license to build them? I also think if you did offer them for sale you would be in the top two of custom revolver builder! Then there's the rifles you build..... ;D

Lee: there's something about your customs that scream perfect. They're just so clean and you never tinker with the stock lines. Rounded grip frames, two-tone, weird front sights, overdone grips, and engraving ruin guns like this for me. And you could give a lot of us lessons on photograhy.

Do you need some special license to build them? Thanks for the compliments guys. To do this as a business you need an FFL and where I live you can't run a business out of your house. Which means we'd need commercial space. Then we'd have to get insurance. It's a really tough business and if you talk to the top smiths they'll all tell you the same thing.....it takes a while to turn a profit and even then you don't get rich off it. Right now there're so many great gunsmiths doing this type of work it'd be hard for us to compete. When you look at what Bowen, Linebaugh, Hunington, Clements, and Harton produce, I don't think there's a need to add Martin to the list. -Lee www.singleactions.com
