Which one? 26lb or 28lb? Looking for fast lock time and accuracy without adding too much to the trigger pull or making the gun move from the hammer fall.

I believe the factory spring is 23 pounds. I've tried a few lighter weight springs but never a heavier one. I like the factory weight best.

Which Ruger? Standard Blackhawks have the 23 # spring Old Army and Maximums have the 26# I believe And everything since '05 with the lock has a shorter lighter spring than 23#
I agree with jlk45 though, I like the old standard BH spring.

The heavier spring did make mine shoot lower. Once you install it, you will see how much faster the hammer drops. Nothing a sight adjustment won't correct. The spring did cut my group size dramatically.
If you stone your hammer correctly, the spring shouldn't make a difference in the trigger pull. If it is factory, it will make a difference. The factory angle is such that the hammer has to move back ever so slightly to release.

Going with 26#. 28 are said to be for using rifle primers.
