Perusing the wares at the Pasadena show, looking for a 45 colt redhawk, and I got blindsided. There on a table sat a purty Bisley Vaquero in 45 colt, polished stainless. I was entranced, but thought the price was a trifle high... until he brought out the polished stainless 45 acp cylinder. Looks like the Redhawk will have to wait. No pics yet, but I assure all my fence will be featured soon. Brought it home and realized why it hadn't been shot much: all the throats are .450 on both cylinders. That will be fixed soon enough (like as soon as Brownells gets the package here!) and I had taken the stags off my accusport to put the checkered walnut on... Sack Peterson, bless you! Those stags are a perfect fit and easy on the eyes as well.

You can still add the Bisley frame to the New Vaquero, right?

Its a 5.5. I was bummed because the throats were so undersized, then I went to order the reamer and the price has doubled since the GunBlast article. I have decided instead to either ship the wheels off to CAS (If he's still at it) or take 'em to Alan. In the meantime, I have discovered that my blackhawk convertible cylinders fit and function just fine... and the palomino look is SuhWeet!

With the stainless cylinder: And as shot today with the blued cylinder. I like this look! I'm really happy with the stags: just the right amount of bark. (Thanks, Sack!)Shot great with 45 ACP ball, did ok with my 250 keith style handloads...Sending the cylinders off for reaming in the AM...

My interest was in the T handle piloted hand reamers sold by Brownells and midway. They had been $50 + $20 for the pilot pack, but are now $80 +$50 for the pilots. Considering the reasonable need I may have for owning reamers, the odds of my buying more 45 revolvers and the chance that I could screw it up, I'll have it done.
