I was wondering. Is there any advantages or disadvantages to putting a TSOB scope mount a Bisley vs just buying a Hunter model. from a functional and structure stand point

If you D&T your frame for the TSOB your lifetime warranty from Ruger is void.
If your plan is to scope the gun, I would just go with the Hunter model. The integral scope mounts work well, although I prefer the Weigand scope base and rings over the standard Ruger rings.

I know that a lot of folks (me included) prefer the balance of the standard models with the scope over the action VS being mounted forward over the barrel. I would think that having a scope mounted on the barrel would mess with harmonics and heat expansion, as well as having that big rib on the top would cause the barrel to walk as it heated. Of course, for hunting, the balance is probably more important that any affect from the rib or scope on accuracy.

After trashing 2 scopes on my SRH 454 I went to the Weigand setup. I am not sure if it is available for the Hunter model. If your just dealing with a 44 Mag Id say the factory setup on the Hunter should be fine.

The Hunter Ruger provides a decent way to mount your scope. Every scoped Ruger single action I own (17/22/41/44/45) is a Hunter. That said my preferred single action scope base is the T'SOB. It provides flexibility in the scope position that I need. The only T'SOB example I have to show is a FA..

I used the Weigand because it uses the rear sight elevation screw hole and the factory dovetails, and the picatinny type rail has lots of placement options.

Weigand makes a base for the hunter model. It allows you to get the scope a little farther back.

One thing when looking at my SRH last night,The reason I bought the Weigand, and would be the same fro the TSOB. My Pro Point wouldnt/will not fit between the Ruger rings. Not sure if the Hunter has the same spacing or not,but if it does I dont think any of the "red dot" sights will fit.

The hunter does have the same spacing.
If you have a red dot with a longer than average center section you may have trouble getting the standard Ruger rings to work

I really prefer the looks of the TSOB over the scope mounts on the Hunter models.

I have the very rare SBBH in 45 Colt. I have 4 other revolvers FA and Ruger in this chambering. The Hunter is the only one scoped, and only the first hour of daylight, and the last. When I have enough light to see the open sights I prefer to hunt with them. I am 57 and my sight isn't what it used to be, after loosing a couple of nice bucks because I wouldn't take the shot, because the light was to low to make out my sight picture, and not wanting to wound the animal I went with this set up. I can take the scope off and on without loosing it's zero, it only requires a quarter or a key will suffice as a screw driver in the field, and the open sights are never moved and always on!! I have a 2X weaver and it mounts and fits in between the front and rear sight, with room for scope covers. Then I found with the added weight on the barrel from the heavy mounting rib, I am dead on with 250 grain slugs and have the exact same zero with 340 grain slugs. All my othere revolvers require about a 4" sight adjustment between these two loads @ 25 yards! This is by far my favorite hunting rig even over my Model 83 FA Premier!!

The TSOB requires you to remove the rear sight from the revolver. The Hunter models (and the older Redhawks too) allow you to keep them installed/sighted in.

Excellent point! Use a set of something like the Warne QD rings and you can easily snatch that scope off and proceed with the hunt iron sighted...
