I read about the round years ago, but am curious to know if Wildey ever chambered it? From what I remember it was either a 45 Win Mag necked to 10mm or it was based on 284 brass (like the 475 Wildey). I know the guns were on again, off again propositions. For some reason though I'm interested in this one. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I thought AMT chambered for it. Starline has brass listed for it but currently backordered.

I thought AMT chambered for it. Starline has brass listed for it but currently backordered. I think you mean the 10mm magnum. That is a different animal completely. Both gun and cartridge. Finding info on the wildey is pretty tuff.

Ya, the 10mm Magnum was a 10 Auto stretched to around 1.24". The Wildey was a heavily necked case. I have a photo of the round in a book somewhere. I'll try to find it and post a scan next week. -Lee www.singleactions.com

The AMT/IAI 10 Magnum was different. Theirs was simply a 10mm Auto lengthened to 1.24" or so. The Wildey was done on necked 45 Win Mag brass (or maybe even from cut-down 284 Win). -Lee www.singleactions.com

Lee,
I think you'll have more luck if you searched for info on the .41 wildey magnum.
I think it's a 6 vs 1/2 dozen type of thing.

Guns Digest Book of Gun Values lists the Wildey Auto in 10mm Wildey Magnum. Good shape $900. VG $1150
I still believe I've read the .41 and 10mm Wildey Mags are the same thing.
