Hello, first off i am still in the picture posting learning stage so they are soon to follow. I went to the range and did all my shooting at 25 yards, i started out using a causal rest and shot 5 rounds at a bowling pin target with a small orange doe on it. I had several loads and bullets to try, the heads were 148g wc, 125g 9mm, 158g rn, powder was bullseye and unique, the first load was bullseye and 148g wc, all shots were in a nice 2 to 3 inch group, low, but perfectly centered, then i tried the 124g 9mm heads with bullseye, to my surprise these too were in a nice little group but low and well centered, finally i tried the 158g rn with 6.0g unique these shot the best, albeit low but a very tight 2 inch group. I then started shooting offhand at a bowling pin target using the 6.0g unique with a 158g rn load, i decided to aim at the neck of the pin and after 25 shots i was clean,[ hit the pin every shot] i am going to go out again to see if i can repeat this, if i can i think i may have to retire my 44mag tc for a whileand start to use the hawes for bowling pin shoots, thanks for reading pghrich.

My .357 Herters (same as Hawes?) is a nice revolver. It's a 3 screw. I bought it here about a year ago. It really likes the 148 HBWC loads but it is just average with the heavy 158 gr. loads. Maybe I should try some 180s.

I am looking forward to seeing pics of your Hawes. If you want to e-mail a few to me, I will post them for you.
