FWIW don't leave them unattended in the safe for extended periods of time.. They seem to multiply! This family shot is from 9/2008. I'm almost afraid to ask them to pose for a new one...

Axe, I must ask how many of those fine revolvers actually burn powder on a regular basis?? Axe, you should seek help -- and send me a few of those!

Well being a German American one of the things I like best about a FAs gun is it being "overly sharp and too tightly fit". I hope people find the same faults in me. ;D As for not working in dirty really hard conditions,...well Ive never gummed one to the point where it wouldn't work, than again when fishing in Alaska an X-frame or BFR has gotten the nod in the past. Guest there's no single best, just what works best for you at the time. Bottom line is I like Customs, BFR's, and FA's gun's very much and will have more!
P.S. +1 on wishing FAs also made a blued 83.

You've seen the few I've picked up this year. I bought my first revolver when I was 15 during the summer of '68... Been buying and trading ever since. What do you think? I can say that all of them have been shot... ;D

I'm almost afraid to ask them to pose for a new one... I know there are several of us, who would love to see a current family photo! It gives us something to work towards...

I like the look of the FA's, especially the 97's. But, man, can't somebody come up with a Bisley trigger for this gun?
I agree about the blued guns, too. Look at the basepin latch on a No. 5... and Turnbull CCH. Oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh....

Doug, they are actually quite ergonomically correct as far as the trigger and hammer are position along with the grip. They are very nice revolvers -- now, if they only made them in blue! ;D

I wouldn't worry too much about the tight tolerance/reliability issue. I have but one FA (97 in 44spl), but here's my take:
1. Over the years, I've found "wet" to be better than "dry". As a result, I lube the beejebers out of my firearms. 2. In my part of America, it's typically windy and dry with a lot of particulates in the air. 3. I frequently fall down. 4. I've given up on cleaning firearms each and every time I shoot them. I now typically clean them when I need to escape to the garage or I'm embarrassed at their condition. 5. I exclusively shoot dirty hockey pucks (Unique) in my 44spls.
All of these should result in more problems in my FA, yet I see fewer. Methinks that the tight tolerances may keep garbage out.

This is as close as you will see to a bisley hammer on a FA Doug.

But, man, can't somebody come up with a Bisley trigger for this gun? I think this is the first time I've heard this. Have I been living under a rock? What are the characteristics of a Bisley trigger?

Ed, this photo shows the Bisley and the plow handle together and you can see the differences in the grip frame, hammer, and trigger. Hope this helps.
