I was given a box of 45 caliber Cast Performance 335 grain WLNGC bullets.
I wanted to find a safe load for my Smith 25. All the data I have come up with is for heavy loads in Rugers or TCs
Anyone know a source or have a load in the 900 fps range that won't damage the Smith?

Leonard,
Usually, this weight slug is reserved for high performance needing an increase in velocity above what some guns can stand. The big N frames can handle a lot but if fed this as a steady diet they will eventually shoot loose and you will have some high dollar repair work as a result.
My suggestion would be to stay with 250 -300 grain bullets and at the velocities recommended for your Smith.
That's plenty for 95% of what walks this earth.

Will those bullets even chamber in that Smith cylinder? They're a little long if memory serves (and it might not, it's been a while since I loaded any)

I appreciate the input your confirming my thoughts. It appears they will chamber in my Smith but are probably too long for my Colt.
I will probably pass them on to a friend who has a Ruger in 45 colt.

That's my favorite heavy bullet for the 5.5" SS Bisley. If you haven't gotten rid of those slugs, can I be your friend?

I would not shoot that heavy of a bullet in any S&W .45 Colt. They just won't hold up to it.
nobearsyet, My 25-5 cylinder is the same length as the cylinder in my Ruger BH and will chamber the exact same ammo. Not that I shoot the heavy stuff in the Smith.
