I mentioned just over a month ago that I picked up an old model Ruger Bearcat from our local Cabelas. The night that I wrote that post, I decided to give it a good cleaning. While removing the heavy accumulation of crud, I noticed something really odd. Along the loading gate side of the frame, right up against the forcing cone, it appeared as if someone milled the frame and filled it with silver solder. To make a long story short, I contacted both Cabelas and Ruger (both were very polite and helpful) and was advised to send it in.
I just received word back from Cabelas today that Ruger contacted them and stated that the gun was beyond repair, but that they'd be sending me a new Bearcat at no charge. New Bearcat should be here within a couple of weeks.
My old Bearcat was converted to the new transfer bar safety, but still had all of the original parts. I don't know what to do with those. Anyone looking for old model bearcat parts?

Robl, I didn't have a cylinder- just the hammer, trigger, base pin and springs.
The parts are now spoken for.
