What holster for a FA 83 6in Premier Grade? The factory ones look good but I think I want one lined for best protection. Am leaning toward the crossdraw for carry in vehicles and farm equipment. I wonder how it will interfere with rifle carry during deer season. I shoot handguns left handed and woul have holster on right side. I carry my rifle on my right shoulder and shoot from right side.
Thanks,
Don

Get Rob of Simply Rugged to build you a holster that can be used either strong side (left for you) or cross draw. When you carry a rifle put that revolver on the strong side.
I have the reverse of your dilemma. Left for long guns, right for hand guns.
Simply Rugged works for me.

"I want one lined for best protection. " Lined holsters cause as much harm as they are purported to prevent.

Both Bill Grover and John Wooters were carrying their revolvers in such holsters (now made by Ted Blocker) when I met them on a hunt on the YO Ranch in 1991.

Don Contact Rob www.simplyrugged.com He has a variation of the pancake that can be worn either strong side or crossdraw & he can fit a flap on it that snaps on & off. It's a pretty nice looking holster & should really protect your gun. I have a Simply Rugged "Cuda" that I really like. His holsters are top quality. Frank

I believe the Ted Blocker holster was an original Bill Grover design. Jayhawker Bob

Well, Grover certainly allowed people to believe that, especially in later years, but he did not design that holster. A friend of his in Kentucky designed it. [teaser]Details forthcoming in the TLA book.[/teaser]

I have both a Simply Rugged Sourdough and one of the above mentioned Texas High-Rider holsters. Both holsters keep the pistol high and tight to your body. The strong suit of the Blocker holster is the ease of taking it off if you come in and out of the house a lot. Pop a button and all you are wearing is the loop. The Sourdough actually is much more secure, in my opinion. I like the Sourdough for hunting and grunt work and the Blocker for running around the farm and lighter duty work. Just my humble opinion.l
