Old Owners? Whoa now! Old is a state of mind... IMHO Old Jeeps and Old Owners mix like oil and water...

I prefer my FORD - not a Jeep, but it's the same wheelbase...

Old Guys like the Bronco and Scout... Something about those low wide doors making it easier to get in and out.

I never did really apprectiate the CJ-7s and the pants destroying hump in the door opening, especially when some rocket scientist stuck a set of 44's on them.

Those Broncos certainly do have some fine parts. Their transmissions, transfer cases, axles and the like, IMHO are the best factory components there have ever been. I had Currie build me a 9 inch Ford for my '79 CJ5. For me the original bodies are every bit the Classic 4x4 that the CJ 5/7 is....

The wisdom of a later model is easy to quantify too. Like hotrods and custom guns the cost effective way to acquire the old Jeep is to find one already built by someone else. My el cheapo CJ5 has acquired a transmission, windshield and windshield frame, a complete wiring harness, tires, and still needs brakes all round and wheel bearings too! When it is just road worthy, not counting my time, I will have spent well over what a cherry one would have cost.. I still plan a roll cage, tube fenders, and rock sliders. The saving grace is that I enjoy fiddling with it...

2 happy days with a Jeep! 1- The day you buy it 2- The day you sell it

Good thing about being a Jeep dealer, all the hot girls that they attract ONE of the bad things of being a Jeep dealer...the 300lb 50 sumthin women having a midlife crisis............ I like the last of the TJ's before they dropped the 4 liter the best. Ran good, lasted forever if maintained, the soft tops were perfected, didnt leak water and could carry on a conversation at 60 mph. With me after 25 years of 8 to 16 hour days working on cars I just cant take the weekend tinkering anymore.
