Question for you guys who have had Jack Huntington modify your Freedom Arms revolvers... How does he mark the gun? Best example would be where he has made a 500 JRH cylinder for your Freedom Arms 50E or 500WE. You would still have the original cylinder so remarking the barrel might not be appropriate.

I doubt he remarks anything since the barrel is already 500 on a 50 AE or WE. You're talking about having him do a JRH from scratch right?

mine had a cal. change so its got 500JRH on the barrel. I would think if he's only making a cylinder he doesn't need to mark anything.

He marks the cylinder in the back of the cylinder in the same place that Freedom marks their factory cylinders -- only visible with loading gate open.

My interests are about about a 500JRH cylinder for a 500WE... If you end up calling Jack on this project, please let me know what he says, I have 2 FAs now in 50AE and would love to send one to FA for a extra 500WE cylinder and send one to Jack for a second cylinder in 500JRH, I would call him my self but I don't want to bother him until I can afford the work.

That is where FA puts the serial number. Curious what he adds in addition to that if he rechambers an existing FA cylinder (say, from a .454) and fits it to the 500 WE gun.

In my experience, Jack is pretty flexible. He will likely mark it however you ask him to.

More to the point - Axe is asking about an existing gun. It is a .500 WE that has a .500 JRH cylinder. The only markings on the cylinder appear to be the original FA SN for the cylinder, which does not match the SN of the gun. What he is wondering is if a cylinder with no special markings could have been done by Jack, or does he definitely always mark them a certain way. Thank you to all who have responded!

According to Jack (I had to talk to him anyhow!), any auxillary cylinder for an existing gun from Freedom is marked on a small machined surface between chambers (it's a very small spot) with the caliber of the cylinder. It is hard to read, but that is where Jack also marks Freedom cylinders he does. But, as Aggie pointed out, Jack is flexible and will do what you want. Basic rechambering is $250 on your cylinder.
