I sure was tempted myself... Remembering my long gone X frame 500 S&W and my Reeder 500L Ultimate Backup sitting in the safe helped me decide to pass.

I wasn't to fired up with this frame until he offered to make a limited number of them chambered 500S&W, this will give me a 3lb revolver that can serve double duty; full power 500S&W loads when wanted and lite 500JRH/50Special loads when not. kind of a BFR in 500JRH on steroids! ;D ;D ;D

Should be a thumper. So are they pushing 60,000 PSI loads through those? I know there's a little more meat in a 500 S&W than a 500 Linebaugh Long, but the latter you have to hold to 35,000 - 40,000 PSI tops. -Lee www.singleactions.com

So I would say yes there OK, but they don't have the extra safety margin of the X-frames, I plan on top end 500WE-500JRH loads with less pressure myself. if you want the very biggest and baddest, John Ross's 5" X-frame has a lot bigger stronger cylinder then any BFR,FAs and or custom ruger cylinders.

Wish some of you guys lived close enough to come shoot my 4 inch FA 500WE and 4 inch Reeder 500L Ultimate Backup.. These are NOT recreational pieces for the casual plinker.. Best I can tell you need to be pretty much impervious to recoil, like pain, and personally I think it is best if you are a few bricks shy of a load... Like Me! The T.Rex loses all visual appeal to me without the Bisley parts. Gary says that his grip frame is slightly longer than the Bisley and has more room between the trigger guard and front strap but it just doesn't have that the look of the original BMF that caught my eye.

Sounds like an invite to me! I'm not impervious to recoil, just love it, most everything else you said fits pretty good! I agree that the in the short barrel his BMF looked better,I ordered my T-REX with a 6" barrel no engraved T-REX,Hoping that barrel should balance out the gun, I'm also thinking about calling gary back and getting an octagon barrel.
