Just picked this up today. Grabbed a box of both types of ammo from my reload stash and headed out to the desert. As the photo indicates, the gun shot the 45 acp a bit tighter. I could a hit rock the size of a micro wave oven 4 out of 5 times offhand at a lazered 98 yards. Back at home I found that a Hornady XTP .452 bullet would just enter the cylinder throat of the acp cylinder but would not even begin to enter the 45 Colt cylinder throat. I might send the Colt cylinder to Cylinder Smith to be opened up to .4525. Since I already own a gaggle of 45 Colt's, I will proably do more shooting with this in 45 acp. (That LEE bullet weighs 200 grains, not 170. ) Nice gun.

I keep trying to convince myself I don't need one of these....I'm pretty sure that won't last however. Nice gun and equally nice shooting. -Lee www.singleactions.com

I called my local pusher, I MEAN DEALER, and after contacting the distributor, he told me they were still two months out but would call me as soon as he got a pair. Am on the edge of my seat with anticipation. Absolutely beautiful! Doesn't help atall that Boge's is sitting on top of Mike B's outstanding handiwork Oh the pain of waiting.

I was able to shoot the gun again yesterday. It shoots the 45 acp with several cast bullet reloads quite well. I have the gun zeroed with the acp cylinder and plan on using it that way most of the time. I already own several 45 Colt revolvers and do not feel a need to use the colt cylinder that much. It is kinda nice to have the versatility though. I see one is for sale on Gunbroker right now.

I picked up mine from my dealer last Friday. I changed out the trigger spring for a lighter version and installed a SBH hammer I had laying on my bench. On mine, the grips were very poorly fitted with the frame being noticibly proud in several areas - so I put on some wood grips from my 44 special for shooting.
I checked the cylinder throats with my set of minus pin gauges. All twelve holes were VERY snug on the .451 pin and very uniform. The .452 wouldn't even think about going in any of them.
I checked over my reloads on the shelf and tried to drop a few in the chambers. My loads with the RCBS SAA bullet sized .452 and crimped in the crimp groove would not completely chamber. I did find a box with some commercial cast and blast 255 gr SWC's with a thinner front driving band that would chamber - these were loaded with Herco. I had no problem chambering 45 acp reloads with a 230 RN lead .451 bullet.
Both loads shot well but I too found that the acp cylinder shot better. I had one 5 shot group with 4 in one hole with the 5th about an inch away.
I put about 50 rounds through it and when I checked there was almost no leading in the barrel but the forcing cone did show a fair amount.
I like the gun, it sure feels nice in the hand. I am thinking that maybe the 45 Colt cylinder should be opened up a bit - .4525 - isn't that what cylinder smith offers? Is there any reason not to do the 45 acp cylinder at the same time?

Ward On mine a .452 jacketed bullet would not even begin to enter the Colt cylinder but it would fit snugly in the ACP cylinder. My 270-SAA bullet when loaded in a case was a very snug fit in the Colt cylinder as well. I really should send it to Cylindersmith and am wondering if I should let the ACP cylinder stay as is.??
