After searchin the auction sites for a deal on a used, older BH 4 5/8" packin gun , I decided to get a new Ruger BH 45 colt, advertized at 36 oz www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/21_49_118/products_id/49724Then later possibly put a SBH or SBH hunter grip frame on it. I handled a new one in the local gun shop, kinda liked it and its way lighter than my shorty 44mag. Think Ill order from Buds Gunshop What can I expect of the cylinder and throats, Accuracy of a brand new BH? Will it have tight throats? .

My recent experience with three different SS Ruger Bisley .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertibles will suggest that your Ruger's cylinder throats will be undersize. I have reamed seven cylinders to correct them - the job is a "piece of cake" and all of them now shoot cast bullets extremely well with NO leading.

You can't go wrong with a short barreled 45 Colt. As suggested, you may want to check and correct the throats. Other than that, you should be set. -Lee www.singleactions.com

just a hair off topic but i tucked a stainless New Vaquero Bisley with a 5-1/2" barrel into layaway at my local ffl yesterday. .452 throats and may God bless someone at Ruger- absolute minimum .480 chamber diameter so absolutely no worries in excessive "brass strtch when get to play with it.
