Got to hold one today... Not for sale just for show and tell. They let me take the slide off and look inside. Didn't look bad for the price. A few things like no guide rod, steel mainspring housing, and a firing pin and spring combo to pass the drop test are plusses over the competition in my book. Should be well up to competing with anything in their price range. Shop is still expecting the 25 they ordered any day now. I'll be waiting on the first used one....

I went and looked one over last week and my coworker bought it. He had been wanting a 1911 for a while but didn't want to spend the money on the Les Baer so he got a good one I think for a great price in today's 1911 market. The gun was tight enough. Barrel fit was really good for a production gun in my opinion. Very little movement from the hood and the barrel/bushing fit was wonderful. My only complaint really was the trigger. It was pretty heavy but I'm sure like most Rugers, it will smooth out a little and if he still isn't happy, triggers are easy enough to fix down the road. I think it will be a big seller for Ruger after looking that one over. I'll have one added to the steel box at some point down the road GS
