Are the "old model" and "new model" SBH grip frames the same length , cept for the 300 or so that were longer made about 1956 (or was it 1960) ?
And is the SBH Hunter the same length as all the SBH "old and new" model grip frames cept its round trig guard ?

Well, I don't think the 300 longer ones were made in '56, believe the SBh came out a bit later than that, but yes to all your other questions.

The grips from a standard Super Blackhawk grip frame will fit the Hunter model. It's not all THAT difficult to reshape the square backed trigger guard into a more traditional shape. The above image shows a '60 or so vintage .44 Flattop fitted with a New Model Super Blackhawk Grip frame that's been modified a bit..... and the nice grips came from the long gone Lett Company. Carl

The SBH Hunter gripframe is one of my favorites. May have to call Ruger to see if they have any in stock. -Lee www.singleactions.com
