So I just bought a Ruger Bisley Acusport model in 45 Colt with the extra cylinder in 45 ACP. I love the look of the fluted cylinder and I'm wondering why I can't have the ACP cylinder rechambered to 45 Colt. Any of you gentlemen ever done it or heard of it being done? Looks feasable from cartridge dimension charts and my dial calipers. What do you guys think? I could have Ruger fit another ACP cylinder later if I wanted it because it was originally manufactured that way, correct? Thanks.

I also wanted a fluted cylinder for my Acusport and found a used 45 Colt Blackhawk cylinder on the Ruger forum for $75. It was the same OAL and dropped right in with out any fit issues. Not sure if that was a less expensive way to go then having the ACP cylinder rechambered. And you keep your original ACP cylinder that way. Now all I have to do is go drop it off at Alan Hartons to shorten the barrel a bit.

Guys, its much less expensive to have Harton simply flute your 45 Colt cylinder.
I like to have my BH 45 ACP cylinders cut to accept the 45AR case. Makes for a versatile sixgun!

I agree with the dogs. Also make sure you have Alan add his excellent BP bevel while he has it in the shop. This 41 cylinder was a Bisley rollmarked cylinder before it went to Alan:
