Yep Mike, it did....my jaw dropped too. I've talked to the former owner Tom Wentz a few years back (he's the guy that comissioned Sig to do the WFDA Sevilles). I knew he had a Qwik-Kit, but for the life of me I have no clue what the 458 chambering is. Sounds odd. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Agreed, a cool piece from Bisbee, but $4500??!?!? Seriously? Remove the gold plated lining from in the barrel and chambers and let's talk a real price here.
Good to know that I am not completely out of the loop, i.e. when I saw 458 and thought what the hell is that?

Relisted with an opening bid of $4,500. Still can't get clarification on the 458 cylinder. -Lee www.singleactions.com

That shop is about 30 minutes from here. I just might head over that way and take a peek at it.

I remember reading about a 458x2 caliber. which was just a 458 Win Mag cut down to same length as a mag pistol round. Yes it was belted and the cylinder head spaced based of the belt. I remember it being in an old Magazine that I have...I will look for it once I am back from Drill.

My 458 Devastator fits a revolver and it basically a 458 Win Mag cut back to 1.40". I doubt this Seville is the latter since the cylinder is a 6-shot. -Lee www.singleactions.com

Okay, I got by to see the gun yesterday. There is a .45 Win Mag cylinder, which I assume is what they meant by .458. I know the owners of the shop, it turns out, from my gun show days. They opened last year. The gun is on consignment from Tom Wentz, who now lives in Statesville. It is in nice shape, but definitely shows wear from use. He has set the price and the shop owners said they told him it wouldn't sell at that. I told them that the concensus in the collecting world is $1500ish and I'd pay that for it. They agreed that was more reasonable, but have no control over it. He thinks the SN and who he is makes it worth the price. I don't imagine he is going to sell it.
I asked if he has the box and papers. No dice.

Thanks...I really appreciate you taking a look at it. So it likely has two 45 cal barrels and one 44 (and the 4 cylinders would be 45 Colt, 45 Win Mag, 44-40, and 44 Mag). I wouldn't go much over $1,500 without the box. I talked to Tom a few years back and he's a really nice guy. At $4,500 though, he must not be in a rush to move it. -Lee www.singleactions.com
